Manheim Township’s Adam Kingston capped off one of the greatest Lancaster-Lebanon League running careers by winning the Class AAA 3,200 meters at the PIAA Track & Field Championships in a league record time of 8:51.25.

It put the finishing touches on a cross country and track career that was full of winning and amazing improvement, which led him to spot on Penn State’s distance running team.

On that title run in the 3,200, Kingston finished the final 800 meters in 2:01 with a final lap split of 0:57. It was 7 seconds faster than his personal best. One weekend prior he won the District Three Class AAA 3,200 in 9:01.71 on the same track at Shippensburg University’s Seth Grove Stadium.

He also was the 2025 L-L League champion in the 3,200 (8:58.04) and 1,600 (4:09.76). He basically ran the 1,600 side-by-side with classmate/friend Cole Stevens who took second (4:09.86).

At the 2025 Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Kingston and Stevens were joined by fellow seniors Ethan Peffley and Andrew Kemper to run a school-record 7:40.69 in the 4x800-meter relay, which is the second best time in L-L League history. That foursome placed fourth at the PIAA meet in 7:49.18.

In cross country, Kingston, as freshman, finished 136th in Class AAA race at the state meet in 17:50.8. He was the fourth-best runner for a Township team that placed 12th. Fast forward to his senior year, when he ran 15:58.0 for seventh place overall (tops for MT) and helped the Blue Streaks to a sixth place team finish.

At the District 3 level, Kingston, along with Stevens, was a stalwart on Township teams that won the Class AAA team title in 2024, placed second in 2021 and 2023 and third in 2022. Individually, Kingston was the Class AAA champ as a junior in 15:41 but took second as a senior in 15:24.8 in leading the Streaks to the team title.

Kingston also led Township to L-L League title defense as a senior and won the individual title by covering the South Hills Park course in Lebanon in15:10.5.
